Deepesh Hoskere is a Bharatanatyam artiste and disciple of Natyachoodamani Nrithya Kala Bharathy Shri G. Ratheesh Babu and a Senior Scholarship holder by Dept. of Culture, Govt. of India. He has done his Diploma and M.A. in Bharatanatyam. He is awarded by several National Awards like Nrithya Bhooshan, Nrithya Shree Puraskaar, Natya Mayooram, Natya Kala Ratnakaar, Nritha Nrithya Shree Award, Nrithya Yuva Mani, Natya Kala Praveena and Sankardeva Yuva Nritya Sanmaan for his noteworthy performance in Bharatanatyam.
Detailed Profile :
Born on 23rd April 1990 at Kothamangalam (Kerala), Deepesh Hoskere hails from Karnataka. His parents discovered his interest in art and dance and started his Bharatanatyam education at an early age of 7 years. He had the opportunity of learning under gifted gurus. He was introduced to Bharatanatyam under the able tutelage of Smt. Darshana Atre at Indore, where he learned the basics and adavus. Then, he moved ahead and was introduced by her to Natya Choodamani, Nrithya Kala Bharathy Shri G. Ratheesh Babu, a disciple of Kalaimamani Padmashri Adayar K. Laxman, Chennai, who is a highly acclaimed and renowned dancer and continues to be totally involved in the art both as a teacher and a performer. Inspired by the devotion and dedication of guru and awed by the quality training, he started his training under the eminent teacher and continues to learn.
His on stage focus is on power, tension and athleticism, holding the dignity, restraint and originality of the performance. Technically correct, elastic and energetic movements defines his dance style. Dancing on rhythmic patterns, with firm poses, subtle expressions and being a part of ingenious choreography is his interest. A bharatanatyam performance which gives the experience of being a part of the geometrical neatness and beauty has always been his favorite. He practices dance as a very physical, athletic and a dynamic activity with tautness in movements and expressions. At the same time with the involvement in dance, incorporating different rasas and with pure bhakti, he seeks divine union.
He has completed his M.A. in Bharatanatyam from I.K.S.V.V. Khairagarh. He has done his Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications & done Diploma in Bharathanatyam from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishvavidyalaya, Khairagarh (C.G) and is undergoing training in Carnatic music. He aspires to study about Indian Classical Heritage in depth. Studying the life of great dancers and artists, learning from their experiences, he finds his way to achieve perfection.
