The Hindu Theatre Fest is back with a line-up of experimental plays by talented groups from across the globe. After a decade of bringing a taste of global theatre to Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, The Hindu Theatre Fest is back for its 11th edition. Bringing some classic comedies, some avant-garde new plays and even some local flavor to the table, this year's festival promises to be an interesting one that will appeal to a variety of palates.

THE GOD OF CARNAGE

Synopsis: Q Theatre Productions play God of Carnage is an adaptation of an acclaimed play by Yasmina Reza andstars Shernaz Patel. Two children have a fight in a park. One suffers minor injuries. Originally written in 1836, Gogol's classic is an energetic comedy of manners and errors, taken one step further by now not only being a madcap satire about corruption in a small town, but also about the theatre process itself.

Synopsis: Ashvin Gidwani Productions 2 to tango 3 to jive, starring film and theatre veteran Saurabh Shukla, follows the travails of Parminder Singh Sethi (Shukla), who is going through a midlife crisis. Parminder is bored to death with the mundane routine of his life. He feels as though life has passed him by, and he has nothing left to look forward to. In his state of ennui, and for the first time in his 22-year marriage, he is seriously considering indulging in an extra marital affair, believing that it will bring back his zeal for life.
